An urgent appeal to Sweden to stop the deportation of Asma Mirbalouchzehi Ziroukan

This is an urgent appeal to Sweden to act with compassion and stop the deportation of Ms Asma Mirbalouchzehi Ziroukan to Iran. We, the Balochistan National Movement, are deeply concerned about Ms Asma’s plight and urge the Swedish authorities to reconsider her deportation on the basis of humanitarian grounds.

Asma Mirbalouchzehi Ziroukan has long been an outspoken critic of the Iranian regime, particularly in regard to its appalling injustices, executions and unrelenting suppression in Balochistan.

Asma is well known to the regime for her open political activities in Sweden against the grotesque violations of human rights in Balochistan. Accordingly, Ms Asma is a political dissident of particular interest to the Iranian regime and faces a serious threat of persecution, and possible capital punishment, should she be deported to Iran.

The Balochistan National Movement appeals to you to grant a stay of the deportation order and kindly review your decision on her immigration status in Sweden so she is relieved of the anxiety of facing capital punishment in Iran.

We sincerely appreciate Sweden’s compassion in relation to Asma Mirbalouchzehi Ziroukan and look forward to the response of the Swedish authorities.
