Rampant Human Rights Abuses in Pakistan & Iranian Occupied Balochistan

According to reports state forces seized the remains of Pir Bakhsh, Sabzal Khan, Dad Mohammad, and Amanullah Baloch.  Several homes were destroyed and numerous Mashkey residents were wounded during the attack.

In another breaking development, Report have surfaced that 11 Pakistani Gunship helicopters have commenced an intense bombardment of villages in the Kech district of Makran.  Large numbers of Pakistan Soldiers have converged in the area and have cut all communication & phones lines.

According to reports Occupational State Forces have killed a young child and destroyed numerous homes in Siahalo Dasht.  Additionally Villages in Saiji, Mazan Band and Dasht Kulanch are currently being heavily bombarded.

On January 2nd Chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons Nasrullah Baloch held a press conference at the Quetta Press club.  During the conference Nasrullah Baloch said that 455 mutilated bodies were found and 435 Baloch people were disappeared during the year of 2014.  Nasrullah Baloch said that “of the 455 bodies that were recovered, only 107 could be recognized. Remaining 348 could not be recognized because those were mutilated beyond recognition.”  Nasrullah Baloch further stated that because of the “The current government in Balochistan has failed to stop enforced-disappearances and bring the perpetrators to justice. In fact they are protecting those who are involved in extra-judicial abductions and killings.”

On January 4th 30 people were extra-judicially abducted by Iranian Security Forces in the village of Nasir Abad in Sarbaz, Iran.  According to reports from the Baloch Activists Campaign, Iranian security forces invaded homes in the villages damaging property and looting valuables.  Baloch Activist Campaign has reported similar unlawful operations in the Dazbagaan and Ali Abad areas as well.

2 decades prior to Pakistans’ forced Annexation of Balochistan in 1948; Western (Sistan) Balochistan was amputated by foreign hands in the late 1920’s.  For nearly a century Western Balochistan been occupied by Iranian forces.

The Baloch people living in the Iranian occupied regions are subjected to the same systematic oppression we see in Pakistani occupied Balochistan.  Baloch are deprived of basic civic infrastructures, such as clean water, electricity, health care & education in both Iranian & Pakistani occupied regions.  Those who do survive the harsh living conditions are faced with the constant threat of enforced abductions, full scale military assaults, murderous death squads, and violent terrorist gangs.

In Western Balochistan, Iranian forces have again violated the borders and attacked Baloch civilians and villages in Pakistani occupied regions.  On Sunday December 28th Iranian forces commenced a full scale bombardment of the Zamuran area of Pakistani occupied Balochistan.  According to reports, at least 42 mortar shells were fired at the rural villages.  Four people were injured and 2 vehicles were destroyed during the attack.

In recent years, Iranian Forces have violated the border on numerous occasions.  In 2009 Iranian forces fired more than 50 rockets into the Mashkai, Tump, and Mand areas of Balochistan killing 3 women & injuring 2 others.  In 2013 Iranian forces fired rockets into the Panjgur region.  According to a provincial home department official; “Iranian border forces have fired rockets in Pakistani territory around 11 to 12 times during the last one-and-half months.”

Despite the indiscriminate slaughter of Baloch civilians and reckless destruction of Baloch villages carried out by Iranian Forces, the Pakistani administration remains complacent in their response.  While Pakistan seems comfortable with Iranian border incursions, they become extremely irritated when the borders in Kashmir or Afghanistan are allegedly violated.

Iranian & Pakistani Occupied Balochistan is one of the most impoverished and underdeveloped regions in the world.  For many decades now, serious human rights abuses are being committed.  In addition to the perpetual military operations; Doctors, Students, Journalists, Intellectuals, Cultural & Social activists, Poets, Musicians, Activists, and civilians from all walks of life including women & children are routinely threatened, abducted, tortured, killed and dumped by State forces at an alarming rate.

On December 19th BRP Germany held a demonstration in FRANKFURT HAUPTWACHE highlight the ongoing HR violations in Balochistan.  BRP Germany chapter Demonstrators and activists campaigned to create awareness of the ongoing human rights abuses in occupied Balochistan.

On the 20th of December, World Sindhi Congress CANADA (WSC) and Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC) held a protest rally against the ongoing brutal extrajudicial killing of Sindh & Baloch political activists, particularly the most recent killing of young Sindh Activists’; Asif Panhwar, Wajid Langhah, Servech Perzadoo, Waheed Lashari and Roshan Brohiin in Sindh.

A large number of Sindhis, Baloch, and representatives from all over Toronto area gathered in front of Nathan Philip squire city hall of Toronto to protest.  Zafar Baloch, Imtiaz Baloch, Hajin Kalhoro, Tarek Fateh and other Human right activist addressed the rally & delivered speeches.

World Sindhi Congress (WSC) CANADA wrote letters to all Canadian human rights organizations and Amnesity international Canada and all Human rights Canadian government agencies requesting their help to press on the Pakistani government to investigate the extrajudicial killings, release the disappeared, and stop human rights violations committed by Pakistan against Sindhi people.

On December 21st the Baloch Community of South Korea held a gathering with Korean Human Rights activists.  Mir Yaseen Baloch delivered a briefing about the cruelty of Pakistan inflicted upon the Baloch people.  Mir Yaseen Baloch said “Pakistan is continuously engaged in Baloch genocide and abducting Baloch activists, every day 3 or 4 dumped bodies are found in occupied Balochistan.”  He further stated “We (BCSK activists) strongly appeal to the UNO & Korean Human Rights to pressure Pakistan and play an effective role in the restoration of Balochistan’s autonomy.”

Additionally on December 28th the Baloch Community of South Korea held public protests in South Korea to create awareness of the human rights violations in occupied Balochistan.

On International Human Rights Day the Baloch Community BC gathered in Vancouver alongside Human Rights activists and Amnesty Intl. Representatives to participate in the #WriteforRights campaign to create awareness of the ongoing human rights abuses in occupied Balochistan.  Baloch activists composed a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Stephen Harper about the severe human rights violations in both Iranian & Pakistani occupied Balochistan.  Activists urged the Canadian prime minister to take diplomatic actions through UN against Iran & Pakistan.

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons alongside the Baloch Human Rights Council also held demonstrations in Karachi on International Human Rights Day to protest the occupation of Baloch homeland.  VBMP demonstrators, activists and participants raised their voice against the occupational state’s campaign of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and military operations in occupied Balochistan.

We are bearing witness to a humanitarian crisis, growing in severity with each passing moment.  Thousands of mothers, daughters, wives, husbands, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters gather in the streets to raise their voices for their loved ones and cry out to the international community to investigate and intervene.  Activists around the world frequently stage protests and demonstrations urging their governments to play a role in ending human rights abuses in occupied Balochistan.  Our world leaders’ apparent lack of willingness to enforce international law not only emboldens the occupational state forces in Balochistan, but also encourages other oppressive regimes such as North Korea & Iran.

To date the United Nations and world bodies have remained completely complacent towards Pakistan’s blatant campaign of ethnic cleansing in Balochistan.    While the entire international community remains silent; Pakistan continues to accelerate their sinister agendas with complete impunity.
