Karachi is the heritage of the Baloch nation and was inhabited by the Baloch.
According to historical traditions, around 1729, when the port of Karachi took the form of a small settlement, it was named Mai Kolachi, which is the village of Mai Kolachi.
Mai Kolachi was a Baloch woman from Makran, who became the leader of this fisherman’s settlement due to her bravery and wisdom. Her descendants, including the Kolachi Baloch and other ancient Baloch tribes who walked shoulder to shoulder, were the foundation of this city.
The first architect of this city was none other than Mai Kolachi herself, along with her own generation, the Kolachi Baloch, and other ancient Baloch tribes who lit the lamps of life on this barren and unknown coast. The rural areas of Malir, Gadap, Lyari, and Manghopir, along with the centuries-old cemeteries there, still testify that the soil of this region is imbued with the blood and sweat of the Baloch.
Although Karachi has sheltered millions of people over time and has become a global economic center, its true identity, its name, and its foundations have always been rooted in the history of the Baloch nation. Mai Kolachi’s land is fundamentally the historical home of the Baloch and their ancestral heritage, which every impartial historian is compelled to acknowledge.
